This, then, is how you should pray:
‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven..’ Matthew 6 v 9 -10
Isn’t it amazing that we have a Father in heaven? Take a few seconds to let that sink in. In this text, our Lord and saviour Jesus is teaching us how to pray and He begins by expressing Praise to the Father – hallowed be your name – then moves to reveal what He desires to happen on earth. The coming of the Father’s kingdom and The Father’s will being done. As believers, we have the unique privilege of expressing the Father’s kingdom and bringing heaven to earth now by doing the Father’s will now in whatever situation we are in. That is a summary of His kingdom, His will being done. Won’t you play your part in bringing the Father’s kingdom to your workplace, home, school or grocery store by being loving Him and the people around you? Through this you are doing what Jesus commanded.
