Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Gen 1:26

Yesterday we saw how God is the ultimate worker and that in the beginning He was working. Well part of His work included making mankind in His image! If God is a worker and we are made in His image, guess what He has deliberately built into each of us? The ability to work. Work is not a necessary evil, it’s part of our identity in God and as we do it to the best of our ability, we express something of the nature and glory of God.

Take time to thank God that you are made in His image. Thank Him particularly that He has embedded in you the godly quality of work. Ask Him to help you renew your mind in this area.
