Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. Luke 18:1

It was grade 0 sports day at Petra. In amongst all the laughter and fun, there was a very moving scene. One of the little ones fell over during a race and stayed on the ground bawling his eyeballs out. What one of those precious teachers proceeded to do will always remain with me. She ran up to him, picked him up and stood him on his feet, took hold of his hand and ran with him across the finish line to the thundering applause of all the parents present.

The message that teacher was sending to the child was a simple and yet powerful one. Never give up! Never! Never! Never! This is the message Jesus gives us as well with regards to prayer. The committment and faithfulness we saw in yesterday’s post goes a step further to say when the going gets tough, the tough keep praying. Let us pray without ceasing.
