Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Rom 5:1
When Isaiah prophesied the coming of Jesus in Is 9:6, he proclaimed that one of his names would be ‘Prince of Peace’. Jesus is the source of true and lasting peace. I’m not sure what you think but it feels to me like with the advent of technology and with all of life’s usual pressures, life seems to get busier and busier as the number of variables in one’s world increase. These things are unsettling and it’s easy to live in a constant state of anxiety. Many things to disturb our peace.
But remember that ultimate peace was given the day that Jesus died and roe from the dead. This was the moment when we no longer needed to run from God. We are no longer his enemies running in rebellion. A truce has been called and our eternal state is one of peace. This is a big reason to celebrate. We need to realise that life will be full of all kinds of pressures, some seemingly big and others small, but we need to remember that the enemy tries to use these to steal our peace with God and with one another in God.
It’s a fact, we are at peace with God. Declare it, believe it, live in it. And don’t ever allow the devil to rob you of this peace. Say no to his lies, to anxiety and fear, guilt and shame. We have been reconciled to God and shall forever have peace with him through the death of Jesus Christ, our Prince of peace.
