Psalm 150 is the last chapter of a very long book and a perfect way to end such an amazing book. It’s a very short chapter with only 6 verses and in those verses, the two words “praise him” appear 13 times. No prize for guessing what the theme of Psalm 150 is. Psalm 111:10 tells us that “to him belongs eternal praise”.

What that means is that you take every human being that has ever lived, billions upon billions of them, and all they ever did for 24 hours a day and every day of their lives and for all eternity was to express and give praises to God. Then you take everything that God has ever created – soil, animals, fish, birds, trees, sun, moon, stars in myriads and myriads of galaxies and have them for all eternity reflect the glory of God in their beauty (read Psalm 19:1-4). After that, take all the angels and the hosts upon hosts of heavenly beings and have them do the same for ever and ever. Basically, put this all together (if you can find a bucket big enough) and we’re starting to scratch the surface with regards to how much praise our God deserves.

So what are you waiting for, start praising him and try do it as often as you can in as many ways as you can. Simply put, praise is when you express your respect or gratitude to someone. Praise is when you say, “well done”, “you’re amazing”, “thank you”. And there are many ways to express this – saying it, clapping hands, giving a standing ovation, cheering, singing, dancing, and many others. Here’s Psalm 150. Read it, do it, enjoy it!

Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
² Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
³ Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
⁴ praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
⁵ praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
⁶ Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
