⁴¹ So Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt.’⁴² Then Pharaoh took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain round his neck. ⁴³ He made him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command, and people shouted before him, ‘Make way!’ Thus he put him in charge of the whole land of Egypt. Gen 41:41-43

In our early twenties, my friend Mandla and I used to ask each other, “has the man from the station arrived yet?” This was thanks to Rob McFarlane who took us through Bible School and told the story of the child who thought the word “manifestation” meant “man from the station”. Hilarious, but he had the concept. The MAN from the station could arrive anytime with a package for you. For Joseph, two years after he had asked the Chief Cupbearer to not forget him and to mention him to Pharaoh once he was out, his dreams suddenly came true…literally!

This was the moment of fulfilment! Those literal dreams he had had years prior would be realised in an instant when the king of the land would promote him from being a prisoner to being second-in-command, the Prime Minister of the entire country! It’s that moment when you’re not second-guessing what’s going on, but in a very amazing way, the things God has spoken into your heart come to pass.

This is proof positive that our God is a God of promise and that He is not a man that He should lie. You and I can rest sure in that whatever God has said will come to pass in the right time. As Paul has said in 2 Cor 1:20, “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ. And so through him the ‘Amen’ is spoken by us to the glory of God.” Believe! Pray! And never give up! Look to Jesus, the MAN from the Station!
